Let's Keep Politics Out Of The Army?

In response to the sign-waving of some soldiers who are perturned at the use of soldiers for evacuating Jewish homes and in cases, destroying them in Judea and Samaria, the cry has gone up: "keep politics out of the army".

Like this example:

Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Tuesday joined those condemning the actions of the Nachshon Battalion soldiers who declared Sunday that they would not throw Jews out of their homes in what the government terms illegal outposts. "I
condemn the phenomenon of soldiers refusing to evict people at outposts. We will
not all this activity to spread. Throughout the IDF's history, we were able to keep it out of the political debate in this country, and we will continue to do so," Barak said at a Beersheva high school.

Hmmm.

And what happens on the 'other side'?

This:

The Israeli security establishment is in a state of alarm over the possible departure of Mr. Abbas, whom it considers a genuine moderate. Some of its top members are urging their government to make far-reaching offers — “not just lifting a few roadblocks,” in the words of one — that would persuade him to stay in power and resume negotiations with Israel on a solution that involves creating an independent Palestinian state.

Gee, doesn't that read like politics to you?
