He Should Be In A Cage

In Damascus, Syria, Jimmy Carter said today that:

Palestinians are "living in a cage" in Gaza and that the militant group Hamas must be included in all major efforts for peace.

..."We believe that Hamas should be included in all the major efforts to peace ... It is part of the Palestinian people," Carter said. He added that "1.5 million Palestinians are held in a cage or prison while their human rights are taken away."

A padded cage.

And talking of asses, you saw this?

A stupider person never lived.

Like the rest of the Elders, Carter thinks the Jews should be in a cage.

He can go to hell!

Carter made the biggest ass of himself on TV when he called te Palestinian situation :the biggest humanitarian disaster of our generation" or words to that effect. When challenged about how he could say this in the context of Rwanda. He actually said "that is ancient history". Spoken like a true white Southerner with no respect for Africans . Calling him an ass insults
donkeys.

Australia has its own version of Jimmy Carter, octogenarian former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser, who has become meaner and meaner in his criticisms of Israel. His insistence that Israel must negotiate with Hamas has earned him the moniker "Mad Mal of Hamastan". He has even taken a swipe at "the Jewish lobby". As Prime Minister (the Liberal Party in Oz is the equivalent of the US Republicans and British Conservatives) he was a rightwinger who got into power via a coup - when the Queen's rep in Oz, Governor-General Sir John Kerr, disssolved the odious Whitlam government - that the Left alleged was fascistic; Fraser is still widely hated to this day for that - but has long since reinvented himself as a small l liberal who cosies up to Muslims in Oz and worldwide and deplores any talk of cuts to immigration, especially theirs. He is a pompous old windbag who won't shut up - embarrassing John Howard on several occasions by his nay-saying, though he has now flounced out of the Liberal Party. Er - incidentally - Fraser's mother was Jewish, at least on her father's side (not sure about her mother.)

I've got to agree with Jimmy Carter.

Hamas does speak for much of the Palestinian population. They represent the true face of Israel's enemy. They are unlikely to consider any accord, and so by their very presence at the negotiating table, will reduce pressure on Israel.

Unfortunately, the Quartet is making the same mistake with Abbas as they do with Hariri, Karzai, and various other Middle Eastern leaders: They try to raise the one & only guy who will actually work with them into the "leader of his people".

Abbas does not have the support of his people to do anything, so it's a waste of time to deal with him. Better to deal with the real powers.
