Meeting Ambassador Shapiro

This evening I was invited, through my position at the Begin Center, to a reception at the American Cultural Center in Jerusalem in honor of the US Ambassador Daniel Shapiro.

As fate would have it, not only did my piece on him appear in today's Jerusalem Post blog I maintain but the person in front of me, while I was waiting to introduce myself, was none other than Gershom Gorenberg (wearing the white yarmulke):



I "explained" to the Ambassador thatI was there, in part, to "balance" Gorenberg's presence.  He responded that it is America's policy to assure pluralism.

The Ambassador spoke both in Hebrew and English:
